TGS is pleased to recognize Sanco Shipping and Castor Vali as recipients of TGS' annual QHSE Excellence award! We proudly promote this award program to help raise QHSE awareness, encourage and promote the importance of robust safety and One Team culture, and highlight exceptional efforts by contractors and service providers operating on behalf of TGS.
In 2023, Sanco supported several TGS multi-client and proprietary marine geophysical operations by providing seismic source and support vessel services. The vessels accounted for over 500,000 exposure hours without a single recordable incident, and ExxonMobil Wells awarded the Sanco Spirit 8 'Catch of the Week' awards for their outstanding achievements related to health, safety and the environment. The Sanco vessels and their crew members also contributed to EnerGeo's Sustainable Seas Initiative, a marine debris removal initiative that TGS fully supports and participates in. Since 2021, over 17 metric tons of marine debris have been recovered through TGS' operations.
Castor Vali, a global security and risk management company, played an important role in ensuring that TGS' Awele 3D geophysical operation offshore Nigeria was caried out safely. Castor Vali was responsible for providing TGS with onshore and offshore security personnel, security orientations and intelligence, and 24/7 onboard security monitoring etc. Further, Castor Vali liaised with the Nigerian Navy and onboard maritime security personnel to ensure that, in the event of a security incident offshore, our operation would stay compliant with international law and the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights (VPSHR). Castor Vali kept field crews, vessels, and equipment safe.
TGS firmly believes that establishing a strong 'One Team' culture - whereby every individual supporting our operations works as one team - is critical to the success and safe execution of our field operations. Sanco Shipping and Castor Vali clearly embraced the One Team culture on our operations, which is an important element TGS considers when selecting award recipients.
