HOUSTON, Texas (19 August 2024) – TGS, a global leader in energy data and intelligence, has announced the addition of C++ API to a fully open-source cloud-native data storage architecture – Multi Dimensional Input/Output (MDIO). This strategic release aims to accelerate the development and deployment of advanced machine learning and data processing solutions by making the API accessible to a broader audience.

Developed by the TGS Data Science team, MDIO C++ API addresses data silos and the complexity of handling large-scale geoscience data by providing a unified framework for data access. The framework is designed for high-performance computing (HPC) environments and large-scale  tasks. The API is tailored specifically for efficient handling of multi dimensional energy  data and facilitates seamless integration with existing legacy C++ applications used by our clients.

While the MDIO framework’s Python API was already open source, the C++ API introduces extended capabilities, enhancing usability and collaborative potential of the MDIO framework for further innovation and efficiency in geoscience data analysis.

Wadii El Karkouri , Executive Vice President of Imaging & Technology at TGS, said: “In response to our client requests, we are excited to announce this release of MDIO C++ library to provide key benefits to the energy data community. This release offers performance optimization and legacy integration for a smooth transition and simplifies access and manipulation of energy data.”
